In the time before the fall.
When the power still worked.
We lived together.
Didn’t care for the changing weather.
Underneath disaster lurked.
Before the blackout.
We sang the praises.
Of technology.
Throughout the ages.
We could see it through.
Or so we thought.
Then it all crashed down to naught.
Ill prepared for times to come.
Thought we could live life.
On the run.
Just one mistake.
Was all it took.
Now we can no longer look.
Into the eyes of our fellow man.
